Kitchen on a budget

Kitchens & bathrooms - the most expensive places in the home to renovate. And it doesnt help when you are on a really tight budget - and making do it just not possible. But its amazing what youcan do if you are prepared to roll up your sleeves, and hunt for second hand items. The top photo is the before photo, which came with the customary cockroaches in the cupbords held together by years of mouse poop. It wasnt pretty.

But these are the "now" photos - well the kitchen is not finished, but as you can see, looking a little more usable. And the cost - $750.00 for the whole kitchen, including appliances. Not bad hey. Yes we did have to get new benchtops made, and then of course there is the plumbing, etc - but we should be able to do the whole lot for under $4,000.00.

Then, once its finished, I suppose I will have to come up with another excuse on not having to do the cooking LOL
